Exercise pulse rate
calculator (Thanks to Tony Gale) Just enter your age and the
spreadsheet calculates the optimum pulse rate range for beneficial exercise,
together with the maximum safe pulse rate. The figures are for an averagely fit
person with no medical problems - if in doubt consult a doctor before
commencing an exercise regime for the first time. |

Quitting smoking - savings
and life expectancy calculator (Thanks to Peter Williams)
You simply has to enter the time and date you quit, and some basic habit
details (number smoked per day and current cost of 20). The sheet then displays
how long you've been "clean" (in 3 different ways - hours, days and weeks -
important, believe me), how many cigarettes you have managed to do without and
how much cash you have saved. Also, based on the assumption that a cigarette
takes 5 minutes off your life, how long you've added to your life in 4
different ways (minutes/hours/days/weeks - you need information overload when
you're giving up this habit!). |
