The fabulous UtilikeyUtilikey

A great little addition to any keyring, this lives up to its claim of not being any larger than, errr.... a key. The size and shape is just perfect, which partly explains its best seller status on IWOOT (see below). The hooked body of the tool clips neatly onto any keyring, although you have to really watch where you open it out, as the rest of the keyring then drops to the ground. So don't do it over a drain!

The design is basically two-piece, with indents on one arm which locates the tool closed or at 90° or 180° so that you can use the various functions. The system works reasonably well, although you have to watch yourself when opening in case you cut yourself on the saw or blade.

Working round the functions, the blade is adequate but not razor sharp, perhaps deliberately, given the opening issue above(!) Ditto for the saw, strictly for occasional and light use. The cross-head screwdriver is the most rounded tool here (oh, the puns just keep coming...), especially with the tool opened out to 180°. Using the flathead screwdriver is more awkward, requiring you to use the tool locked at 90°, but it's OK for emergency use. A miniature screwdriver is claimed but when I tried it on a pair of glasses, the head was too thick to fit in the screw slot.

Standout feature, for me at least, was the bottle opener, which has come to my rescue numerous times in cases or dire thirst. That and the overall size, smaller and slimmer than any multi-tool I've ever used.

The Utilikey comes presented really well, in a metal box, making it perfect for presents for yourself or others.

Micro LED torchMicro LED torch

Everybody should have one of these. I've actually got one on each of my house/car keyrings. Especially useful in winter and these have saved the day several times. And they weigh almost nothing.

The permanent 'on' switch is the best feature, as older LED torches require you to keep the button pressed down and this is always a pain, both literally (on the thumb) and in terms of hassle, having to keep one hand occupied. This new design is much better.

I've had mine for a year now and they're all still on the original batteries, these LED torches are amazingly efficient!
