Review of the FurReal Friends
range
(In no particular order, note also that many
toys/pets are available in different fur colours - in theory, anyway, few
retailers stock all the variants). Comments below mainly incorporate personal
family experience of the model.
Butterscotch Pony
This is FurReal taken to another level. And another wallet
depth, but that's another story (just think of the savings on vets bills by not
having to buy a real pony!) - see my dedicated Butterscotch pony page.
Scamps: My Playful Pup
In my opinion the best value of the FurReal range. It's just the
right size, ultra realistic, does enough things on its own, responds to verbal
commands (in addition to the usual back/ear sensors) and is still both cuddly
and robust. Available in the colours shown, or cream (see also the
Gallery page) or Dalmatian. Recommended for ages 5
upwards.

Pup official TV ad spot!
Luv Cub
 Not quite in the same
league as the Playful Pup, but still a good size for cuddling and there enough
things you can 'do' with it.
Frisky Kitten
Disappointing member of the range. It's cuddly enough but its
squatting down pose is a little off-putting. And the motion detection which
should cause Frisky Kitten to 'swipe' at its toy is disappointingly slow and
the motions and timing are very half-hearted...
Newborn Kitten
 Disappointing, the
kitten's quite small and isn't much to cuddle, and your child will get bored
with just head rolling and eyes opening/closing.
New-born Baby Bear Luv Cub
As with the kitten, above, this is disappointing. All the bear
does is raise and lower its upper body as you stroke its back. Of limited
cuddling/play value.
